2017 Human Rights Day - Rwanda should release all political prisoners

On Human Rights Day 2017, the Global Campaign for Rwandans' Human Rights repeats its call on the government of Rwanda to release all political prisoners.

Men and women remain behind bars for no other crime than their opinions, their criticism of the government, or their perceived opposition to it. Their continued detention is a violation of the fundamental freedoms enshrined in the Rwandan Constitution and in the international human rights instruments Rwanda has ratified.

Justice demands their immediate and unconditional release.
